FROM THE ARTIST - COCKTAIL PIANO’S - “FOUR
SEASONS”
Funny how seasons mark our lives. Weddings in June, school
in the fall, Holiday vacations and winter's quiet wait for
the new spring awakening. This album speaks to that with
songs like April In Paris, Summertime, Autumn Leaves and
Winter’s Here. Consider the longing and acceptance
that September Song portrays and you see the point. Some
of the songs have appeared in previous C/P CDs but there
are new ones as well and there comes a big surprise at the
end. On the final track you will hear a vocal arrangement
of a song I wrote back in the 1970s with lyrics by Fred
Smith. The song is entitled “Winter's
Here”, and it appeared in the Christmas Piano
album in 1992 as an instrumental. But the words so perfectly
fit the melody that they begged to be heard together. And,
yes, there is even some orchestration. But not to worry,
Cocktail Piano is not departing from its traditional piano
only format. But just between you and me I hope the song
becomes a Christmas classic rivaling Nat Cole’s The
Christmas Song (Chesnuts roastin’). After you hear
it please let me know what you think.
