COCKTAIL PIANO VOL. 10 - “SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY“
FROM THE ARTIST - SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY
We all have inside ourselves a sentimental journey with
which music makes a powerful connection. Mine began in the
early 1940s. I remember the year 1944 when a little known
singer with the Les Brown band named Doris Day recorded
our title song. Sentimental Journey.
It became an instant hit and made her a star. In 1942 Harry
Warren & Mack Gordon's There Will Never
Be Another You joined the parade as have Polka
Dots & Moonbeams, I Fall In
Love Too Easily, I'm Getting Sentimental
Over You, That Old Black Magic,
and Time On My Hands. But the
1940s were not the end of it. Recently I discovered two
new songs, which though not yet standards, I think will
be in time. David Shire's I'll Never Say Goodbye
proclaims undying love while Johnny Mandel's Where
Do You Start? is about how one picks up the
peices after a love affair has ended. I'm sure you could
add many more from your own sentimental journey.
All of these and more in COCKTAIL PIANO Vol. 10
"SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY". So sit
back, relax, and enjoy!
